Author bio
Author bio Paul Alkebulan was born in Portsmouth, VA in 1948. His father was a career soldier and this enabled him to travel throughout the United States, Germany, and Japan with his family. Paul has also visited Ghana. Dr. Alkebulan received his BA and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He is the author of Survival Pending Revolution: the history of the Black Panther Party and The African-American Press in World War Two: toward Victory at Home and Abroad. He has contributed to two anthologies published in Japan, Motherland and After the Explosion. He has also written many other articles and book reviews on history and culture. Professor Alkebulan recently retired from Virginia State University and is currently researching his latest book on the influence of Christianity on African-Americans during slavery and freedom.
